I had a '63 Blue Book for a while. Wholesale dealer prices from the last year of the Kennedy administration! Talk about cheap stuff!

Just purchased this with eBay bucks about to expire: I’ve been slowly assembling a birth year set of my ancestors. 1842 was the birth year of my paternal great-grandfather in Norway.

When I googled what country this was from (pardon my ignorance) and saw the "C" and the "J" on other side, I realized those are my initials! So I'm gonna get one now!

(5,1,3,2,4,6) I was looking at this cool Danish coin and saw the HCN 'heart' GJ on the bottom obverse of this 1925 2 Kroner. It looks like a personal love note but it's on 3.2 million of them so that would be nuts. So what's with the little heart?

(sorry, I still struggle with pics and putting'em together)
Thank you to all of the donors :)

Came across this when I was doing my inventory. I think it's a symbol of the mint. Some coins (from countries I don't remember now) have a Bee, a Butterfly, a Corn, etc. to indicate where they were minted.

    Hey Jeff,
Not sure what order your initials are, CJ or JC, but the 1842 2 skilling I bought was Carl XIV Johan, king of Sweden from 1818-1842. Sweden was ruling Norway (continued until 1905) ever since Sweden was "rewarded" with Norway which was taken away from Denmark after the Napoleonic War. Denmark chose the losing side, Sweden the winning side.

You might consider a 1 or 2 skilling in copper; these coins are much larger than the 2 skilling silver. Your initials would show up much better.

Hi Steve, my initials are JC but I'll settle for CJ. Lol. Thanks for the tip about the copper alternatives. Will do. (By the way, since the C and J kinda overlap, it's passable for JC. Haha.)

Thanks for answering. I just thought it was fun to see because I haven't seen a heart itself on other coins really, let alone between 2 sets of initials (mint masters).

I have a 1892 Spanish gold coin that I recently determined to be a fake. At least, I believe it to be a fake. I will soon be posting a picture of it with a request for comment. Fakes coins really concern me for the future of the hobby as it does mony others.

I've got to tell on myself - On a recent cruise to the East Caribbean I was in a shop in Porta Rico where I asked a shop clerk if they took American money. He had a good laugh and I was embarrassed.
