Hello, everyone, and welcome to the latest giveaway!

Well, we're officially into the 2022 holiday season now, so I hope everybody is having a good time. Since I didn't do giveaways in September or October, I figured I'd make up for it by doing a big one for the holidays.

I'll launch this on Thanksgiving Day and let it play out over two weeks or so, with one round (one drawing) approximately every day or so.

There will be twelve rounds in this contest. We'll start with a modern US commemorative and go backward in time, until we get back to the 3rd century BC. There will be nine US coins as prizes, and three ancients.

Would you rather wait until each round to see what the prizes are, for a surprise? Or are you the type who likes a sneak peek in advance?

If you're the latter, here is a...

Ha! I knew you were the impatient type! LOL ;)

Prize gallery here (wait for page load)

Here is a summary of the rounds, which I'll try to keep updated as we move along.

This contest will open tomorrow (Thanksgiving), after I do the drawing for Giveaway #77, (which you might want to enter now, if you haven't already).

Stand by for Round 1 to be posted here when that happens.

OK, so NOW we come to...

    ROUND 1.

The prize for this round is the only modern coin in this contest, as they'll get progressively older as we go along.

    It is ...

United States: copper-nickel clad proof commemorative half (Mount Rushmore), 1991-S

The coin is a nice Deep Cameo proof. It is in a plastic capsule which I think came from the Mint, though there is no box or COA.

To enter this round, all you need to do is:

    1. Say that you want it, and
    2. A word or two about why you want it or what you like about it.

Then, sometime after 24 hours have elapsed, we'll do the drawing and move on to the next round.

Or you may of course say you want it for someone else, if you name that person.

Round summary at the bottom of Post #1.

I don't have nearly enough modern commemoratives, and my wife and I visited Mount Rushmore on our last driving vacation.

LordM, once again you define what it means to be a great guy……. Frankly, I didn’t know we had a Mount Rushmore commemorative and this iconic landmark ranks number one on my bucket list of places I wish to see while I remain on this spinning rock. Lovely coin.

I remember this issue only because it came out the year my firstborn son did. It’s not bad, as modern commem designs go.

Yeah, visiting the actual place would be cool.

As far as modern proof issues go, that is a stunner I would be proud to have in my collection.
Again, a fantastic opportunity for everyone. thanks @lordmarcovan

Once again I thank you for running all of these giveaways LordM. I had heard of this commemorative (as in seen it in the price guides) but this is the 1st time I've seen one. Now I really want one if not here, I'm probably gonna end up buying one. (Why do so many of your contests cost me money? lol)
and I'll toss in some "cuteness" for luck
