This is the nicest 2c piece I ever owned. (I sold it and miss it.) I think it deserved the Cameo designation, but it was graded before PCGS issued Cameo designations on proof 2c pieces.

Alas, these are the only pictures I have of it.

That is an awesome coin... I don't think I could have ever sold it... I have the 66 I got from you in the album and this is the "nice" one I got for my type set...
Nothing compared to your proof, but nicest one I've ever had :D

And Post #241 was by... @Newbee03!
Congratulations, @Newbee03! You have your two cents' worth now! I shall need your shipping address, of course, and will message you shortly.

Please be sure to let us know later when you receive the prize, so I can update the summary in Post #1.

Since you just won Round 7, you only may enter Round 8 if you enter for someone else, but you may return to normal play in Round 9 and beyond.

    So now we come to...

    ROUND 8.

The prize for this round is a...

United States: copper-nickel Indian cent, 1863

Numista-1108. This is one of the earlier type, thicker Indian cents struck in copper-nickel from 1860-1864. (The coins struck from the latter half of 1864 until 1909 were thinner and struck in bronze.) The 1863 is the most common date within this copper-nickel subtype. This example is in relatively low grade, yet it is a decent, wholesome enough example with no issues aside from normal circulation wear. I'd grade it G6, personally.

It was struck at the height of the American Civil War, in the year of the pivotal battles at Vicksburg and Gettysburg.

To enter this round, all you need to do is:

    1. Say that you want it, and
    2. A word or two about why you want it or what you like about it.

Then, sometime after 24 hours have elapsed, we'll do the drawing and move on to the next round.

Or you may of course say you want it for someone else, if you name that person.

Round summary at the bottom of Post #1.

A belated congratulations to all the winners so far, including me. Thank you @lordmarcovan for a wonderful giveaway and especially for the 1918 Walking Liberty have I just received. Here is Daisy my dog, and a numismatist in her own right (a story for another post), admiring it with me. daisy1918.jpg

Excellent! Thanks for the update! I'll update the summary below the intro. You're the first to receive his prize from one of the drawings in this contest, I believe.

    PS- beware of Daisy-drool! LOL

My current Indian cent type coin is a proof. But I do not presently own a (slabbed) copper-nickel- only the raw one being given away here- and perhaps some holey ones on my cork board collection.
