Surprised you haven’t dug any, or is that how you got the one you have? I found five silver halves in my years of detecting. As I recall, they were an 1894-O Barber, 1937-D and 1944 Walking Liberties, a 1952 Franklin, and a 1926-S Oregon Trail commemorative. That last was astonishing to pop out of the dirt!

@lordmarcovan ... Never dug one in all the years I've detected. All the sites that I detected were much older. This is my oldest and best U.S Copper (1803 Draped Bust): 1803Lg centObv-side.jpg

I would like to state in advance that I will likely not be online when we reach the 24-hour anniversary of Round 2, so that drawing will likely occur in the early hours of Sunday morning.

I’m taking my Dad to go see “Devotion”. We’re interested to see it because some scenes were filmed here. They took over the whole hotel (the Cloister on Sea Island) and remade it into some kind of 1950s casino for the movie. I work for Sea Island. Didn’t get to see the filming, though. It’ll be fun to watch for the local scenes.

I haven’t been inside a movie theater in six years or so.

I am working on a circulated walker set and this is one date I am missing. Plus it has a really nice color to it.

Thanks to @lordmarcovan for another very generous giveaway. The Walking Liberty is one of my favorite designs for a US coin, and I definitely do not (as yet ;)) have the 1918 coin.

    The winning number was 71.

    Well, you've got it now!

Congratulations, @ArbySea. I will need your shipping address. Please be sure to let us know later when you receive the prize, so I can update the summary in Post #1.

Since you won Round 2, you only may enter Round 3 if you enter for someone else, but you may return to normal play in Round 4 and beyond.

    So now we come to...

    ROUND 3.

The prize for this round is a...

United States: silver Barber half dollar, 1899-O

Numista-10085. Struck at New Orleans. A lower grade example with a few minor scuffs and stains, but a slightly less common date. (It could probably use an acetone bath.)

To enter this round, all you need to do is:

    1. Say that you want it, and
    2. A word or two about why you want it or what you like about it.

Then, sometime after 24 hours have elapsed, we'll do the drawing and move on to the next round.

Or you may of course say you want it for someone else, if you name that person.

Round summary at the bottom of Post #1.
