    I want it.

There aren't many things that make me feel young these days. An ancient coin like that fits the bill.

    Thank you Robertson

    Yes,
    I want it!

I have almost completely shifted my collecting interest over to ancient Greek and Roman coins in the past year or so.
I remember thinking that was a sacrifice burning on an alter when I first saw the reverse on this coin but it is a mountain.
I don't have a coin with Severus Alexander on it yet either.
Thanks for a chance to win a neat coin. :woot:

Here’s the coin Rob fired my way as a surprise. Thank you, my friend, and the best of holidays to you!

I too thought something along those lines when first seeing this type. It is a bit of a strange looking mountain (does look like it’s in flames). Definitely a cool and interesting provincial type. Bigger than your typical late Roman bronze, too.

I want it. I started collecting ancients earlier this year and Severus Alexander, combined with it being a provincial would be a great addition. Thanks for the chance

    Me Marcovan winnings have arrived!

I'm particularly interested and excited about the Coleman token. It's one I've never seen before. I do some extreme lurking on a Coleman forum or two. I can't wait to do a show-n-tell session with it.

    Yay!!! Thanks for the update!

‘Twas a stroke of random luck about the Coleman token, I guess. Glad it proved a hit! :woot:

PS- I’d be interested to hear what the Coleman collector types had to say about that, if you post it.

@lordmarcovan, I would be interested in your Giveaway #78. A friends son expressed interest in my coins showing Mt. Argaeus. I would like to perhaps kindle his interest not only in the history of Mt. Argaeus, but numismatics in general. Thanks for the opportunity.

This is merely a twelfth of Giveaway #78 (Round #10 of 12 total).

Rounds 11 and 12 will also feature ancient coins when they are posted. Thanks for entering on behalf of your friend’s son!

Be sure to throw your hat in the ring later for those last two rounds, as well, if you don’t win this one!

I’m in—not for myself, for my student who is studying Roman history (gladiators) for a major research project. He'd be delighted.
