Santa II sent me a 2004 Silver Proof Thomas Edison Commemorative Coin. This is a strange coincidence since I received a Phillips Hue 4 bulb light kit as a gift from my mother. Thomas Edison is credited for introducing the first usable light bulb and the Phillips Hue is the latest technology in voice command light bulbs. Many thanks to Santa II
Hello all and Merry Christmas! Here are my Secret Santa items, and let me say, he was very, very generous (and yes, I know who my Santa is because it says so on the envelope/card). Besides the 1950-D UNC nickel (lowest mintage key date!), the bottom three items are the most notable to me. The left one is one of those pop-out, high relief arts and I wish more coins were like that lol. The second one is an ancient coin - I've always wanted to get into Ancients but the sheer volume and difference in scope was a bit overwhelming. I needed a push and this may be what will help get me to start researching / collecting it. I've posted pics of it below, and I believe that it's from Ancient Rome w/ Jupiter on the reverse, but I may be off by a few hundred years lol (Constantine? Does anyone know the specifics? Please let me know!). The third one is actually an envelope that contains a bookmark from 1904. I appreciate the thought since I'm a Chicago native. Thank you, Santa! And, sorry for the poor photos - I still suck at photography!
This unbelievably generous gift from my Secret Santa has me thinking that my present really fell short. Next year! Thank you Secret Santa! And thank you @mikenoodle for running the show!
Well, I waited until Christmas morning to open mine. I received a beautiful 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar encased in Lucite. Thank you, Secret Santa!
I want to thank my Secret Santa wholeheartedly, he/she really went overboard. A toned silver shilling 1943 Australia A revolutionary 5 cent piece from Mexico (I’ve never posted these on here I think but I have quite the collection or Mexican revolutionary pieces) A 1913 Canadian dime A repro confederate half dollar A fossilized tiger shark tooth (one of three sharks I’ve seen while snorkeling/swimming “shudders”) A beautiful 1967 Finnish 10 mark jubilee coin And a Dansco album for shield and liberty nickels. Thanks santa, you hit a homer. Merry Christmas
Opened my SS gift, and was really surprised and grateful !! Thanks Santa, you did great! 4 buffalo nickels and a wartime silver nickel. 6 Indian cents, and a really nice unc 1958 wheatie. A kennedy 1972 D, no initial half.
Thank You very much to my Secret Santa! I received a 1982 George Washington Commemorative silver half dollar and 4 Mercury dimes, 1919, 1927, 1939, 1942. I have been collecting copper and just started collecting silver. These will help me start on my silver collections! Thank You again Secret Santa!
The wait was worth it! Thank you Secret Santa whoever you are, you are more than generous. Here are my goodies, my camera doesn't take the best pictures:[ . :
Thank you to my Secret Santa and his little helper Henry. Love them both and the nice blue toning on the Obverse of the dollar really sets off the nice frosty image of Ike. Added Edge Lettering
My Secret Santa sent me a lovely 1927 Peace Dollar! It even has a hint of edge toning forming. (probably can't see it in my bad photos) I love these big silver dollars, and this one will go into my collection to hang around a long time. Thank you so much Secret Santa!!!!
My Secret Santa nailed it! As my name probably gives away, anything silver is a winner with me. I got a cool selection of silver across various years and denominations. I especially enjoyed telling my family about these coins this morning as I opened them. Thanks Santa!
Thank you very much secret Santa. Well obviously I know who you are, but I don't know if you want to be ousted. For my gift, I received an 1885 O Morgan dollar, graded MS63. It is excellent and I love it. I have an 1902O Morgan Dollar graded ms 63 as well, but honestly this one looks nicer! Excellent choice! And also a 2018 block island quarter. I think in one of lord M's giveaways, this was one of the prizes (ungraded). I'm pretty sure I expressed my love for this coin there. I don't pay attention to ATB quarters much, so unless it hits my change I'm about a year behind. I really like this ones design. PLUS it's in silver. Thank you so much again SS! Edit: I collect ATB quarters when they hit my change and put them in an album (P and D for each design) but I just don't look at the upcoming years designs until I receive them in change)
Opened mine this AM, big thank you to my Santa’s! You were awesome. Will get pics and etc up after the festivies calm Down. Thanks again. Loved them.
Opened mine yesterday. Awesome gift! Thank you Santa! I will post pics later in the week once we are back home.
Just got home from family obligations so here here is my haul Most everything in a group shot A presentation folder with my state’s quarters A nice letter and 10 silver dimes My favorites are these 2 ancients that I get to do some research on Good job Santa. Many thanks and Happy Holidays to you and everyone here. Jim
Score!! Santa knows I love coins from South Africa! The top is an 1896 Sixpence, with Stephanus Johannes Paulus Kruger. The next row is a great Sixpence from New Zealand, 1933, good ole King George V on the obverse. Next we have two 1 Shilling coins from South Africa 1938 and 1940, King George VI. Last is another Shilling from 1942. These are great, and will go straight into the collection! Thank you, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Not my secret Santa gift, but a Christmas gift from my dad. I sure hope he didn’t overpay for it. Makes me nervous when my family members buy me coins. She’s a little dingy, but an honest XF with a decent strike and a better date.
Opened my SS gift this morning. I have recently started collecting some ancients so this was a very nice unexpected gift. This is my first roman (I think). I may have to get some help over on the ancients side for attribution help. Thank you Santa!!!
My apologies, dear fellows. I've been making rather 'Merry' today and find myself incapable of posting proper and accurate pictures of what I have received............I shall do so tomorrow.
