I had this vivid dream about Jeri Ryan recently.... that will come true before silver goes above $100/oz. Come to think of it - she looked good in silver.[IMG]

I think gold will need to go up a lot where people will look for an alternative in silver. Having said this, i think gold has potential to go up high when govt prints more money to stimulate the economy and the volatility in the market leads to people moving their money to pm. But then again, who knows if this will ever happen or when even if it is realized.

The day of this post silver was $48 and now it's $19. Glad you think dollars are "worthless" because you just lost of bunch of them. Lol

Garlicus Debt is dumb, cash is king.

The $115 that I sent you, was last seen 3 years ago. Still waiting on the silver that it paid for, which you never sent.

Can’t wait until YOUR profile says ‘last seen 9 years ago’.

Ah, yes. The silver goldcollector advertised for sale, last seen three years ago. Along with his reputation.

Please read post 15 in the following link. It documents how @Garlicus paid @goldcollector for silver but @goldcollector ripped him off by not sending the bullion nor sending a refund. Yet goldcollector continues to post and brag about how much profit he makes. He also loves to pull up old threads and belittle members who feel that silver is a good investment.

The moderators explained why he isn't banned, but i feel it's important to share this information so other members know that @goldcollector is a cheat and scammer, and that they give his posts the low level of credibility that they deserve and don't become a victim of his scams.

New CT members, Be wary of goldcollector

    Hope this helps

Skanky! I think Kirk would agree, that Sherry Jackson as Andrea was pure GOLD in comparison to any of the later Star Trek babes, --even if it turned-out that Andrea was an android! startrek.jpg

Okay guys. Let’s talk about history. As far as I know, there HAS NEVER been a tjme in history when silver was worth more than gold.

roman, Greek, Seleucid, ottoman. The good coins were ALWAYS higher valued than the silver ones.

by weight, gold was ALWAYS worth more than silver.

It would be the first time in human history that silver ever exceeded gold. That will not happen

Agree on that point, though the ratio has been far closer in the past. The whole coronavirus thing is peak right now, in 10 days it will be apparent to nearly everyone that the worst is behind us (if it was ever that bad to begin with) and once they take their foot off the stimulus accelerator there's going to be a pretty brutal correction. Not so bad that it takes out the bull run, but enough to wash out many neophytes. Silver for-certain below $19 at some point in the near future before making another ramp upward.

At least I agree with silver investing more than gold investing.

my reasoning: worst comes to worse: an ASE worth $1 American dollar is a better proposition than a AGE worth $50.

    nominal values of course

If you aren't a knowledgeable buyer, buying a proven product, you might as well invested your funds in Enron. I could explain more, which generally wouldn't be understood that P.M. commodities aren't a wise investment, unless you know/apply certain proven specifics.

    Invest in home/family first!

The seemingly most desired Silver product appears to be the U.S. dollar coin. What about 1/20 oz. Gold Pandas versus Silver Dollars?

I’m thinking of apocalypse scenarios where for some reason only gold and silver are acceptable currencies.

the average price you pay for an ASE is going to be more “cost efficient “ than any gold coin you buy.

You are correct if cost is the only factor determining "market acceptability", which probably currently should be reflected in the value ratio of the 2 commodities.

I believe, for various reasons, Gold should always be a more desirable/valued commodity.

I can only remember when I made a set of "ear rings" for my daughters 16th birthday from BU "Mercury" dimes. She had a disgusted look on her face, as she apologized, saying "haven't you ever seen how ugly those coins get when they corrode?, I can't wear those!"

I really haven't seen much Silver "bling", since she enlightened me.

I suspect Gold will always be a more valued commodity, even though Silver may be more utilitarian/economical.

In an apocalypse gold/silver will not be the desired currency, weapons, ammunition, food, potable water, clothing, medicine, armored vehicles will be the desired currency. Can't eat, shoot, drive or wear metal coins.

Read the book The Road by Cormac McCarthy. That'll give you an idea of what an Apocalypse is.
