The Pillar was a long term want and finding that one was very satisfying.
The AU 58 8R was one I lost at Stacks and then won at an eBay auction for less even though I bid more!

For those curious, the breakdown of where I got these is as follows:

    10 - eBay
    7 - Great Collections
2 - Forum members (on CU, one of whom is also on CoinTalk)
    1- Stacks

    ...Notes:
~1 of the eBay purchases I was previously an underbidder for at Stacks
~1 of the eBay purchases I was previously an underbidder for at Great Collections

    Bonus factoids:

~only one of the 20 was bought raw and sent in to grade (the Kazakhstan Turtle)

~one other was bought in a PCGS details holder, cracked, and sent to PCGS where it got the AU 58 (Isabella)

~two were bought in straight graded holders, cracked, and sent to PCGS for TrueView photos, and a potential upgrade (which did not happen)...the 1961 Quarter went from PCGS MS 65 to PCGS MS 65.....the 1881-S Morgan went from NGC MS 65 to again NGC MS 65 to PCGS MS 65

~the remaining 16 were bought in the holders they currently reside in

Lovely Set. I had seen this post back in the day, but must have only lurked not signed in, as I see I had not "liked" it yet.

Certainly some stunning toners in here! I am jealous of the Isabella Quarter as I had that on my want list for about a decade, and then gave up. I don't think I will be able to get a CAC approved example anytime soon, or even within the next decade. If coin prices crash hard and for an extended time, an Isabella coin would certainly be on top of my shopping list.

I also really like the peacock token. I am going to research that one some more. :bookworm:

I don't collect foreign coins, but I certainly love the Mexican silver coins, and you're reales is a stunner!

Awaiting update post Version 8 here at some point, unless of course turnover has subsided and you are happy with its final form. Me, I would recommend expanding your box-of-20 to oh, say, a box-of-50, but then again, that would be throwing the entire point of the box-of-20 concept out the window, which is mainly "discipline".

Thank you for the compliments! I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the thread!

An Isabella Quarter is doable as they can be had in the sub-$500 range. Getting a sticker is the harder part as I don't see them too often. You would likely be better off finding one you like and sending it in yourself.

As far as the Peacock, there are multiple types. I posted a brief thread on them here:

Currently there are no changes from version 7 so no version 8 (since it would just be an exact repeat; plus you brought this back to the front so all can see it again :D).

And my "discipline" certainly does belong in quotation marks as this is just my favorite 20. I have some other sets and standalone coins going on the side. :p
In fact, I did a box of "21-30" post at one point. That one can actually be updated since two coins were sold.

I have yet to ever own a single Isabella quarter myself, even after 48 years of collecting. Perhaps I should remedy that before too long.

It's a coin that took me a while to find but I was happy when the right one came along. If you see one you like that is relatively reasonable in price, I would recommend picking it up.
