Many of us have posted ancient coin and ancient history quizzes over the last several years. I thought it might be nice to gather them in one thread. If you've posted a quiz and I missed it, please add it here or PM me and I'll edit it into this first post. The first group are quizzes which are interactive ("digital"), meaning you take them on an off-site platform and they are graded or have other bells and whistles. The second group of links are CoinTalk threads in which the poster has an "analog" quiz-- you don't leave CoinTalk to view it. These are not in any type of order. "Digital" https://www.cointalk.com/threads/greek-coin-quiz.273445/ From @chrsmat71. An offsite multiple choice quiz about Greek coins and regions. http://www.quizrevolution.com/ch/a221548 https://www.cointalk.com/threads/coin-quiz-2-match-the-coin-with-the-location.273451/ From @TIF. An offsite multiple choice quiz; match the Greek coins to its map location. Only the coin pictures are shown, not the written location of the coin so the quiz might be rather difficult. http://www.tifcollection.com/#!coin-quiz-2/c1ru3 https://www.cointalk.com/threads/quiz-cointalk-coins-and-owners.271284/ From @TIF. An offsite multiple choice quiz. Match the coin with the CoinTalk owner. Created November 2015 so this just-for-fun social quiz isn’t very relevant now and it probably won't be fun for newcomers. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/roman-guess-who-quiz-game.273854/ From @chrsmat71. An offsite multiple choice quiz; name the emperor by the portrait. This is a timed test; the faster you answer, the higher your score will be. http://quizrevolution.com/ch/a222247 https://www.cointalk.com/threads/late-roman-quiz.279054/ From @Magnus Maximus . Identify the emperor from a cropped picture of the face. The coins used are aureii. The initially “analog” quiz was put into an offsite interactive quiz. http://www.tifcollection.com/coin-quiz-3 https://www.cointalk.com/threads/12-caesars-facial-recognition-denarii.282609/ From @IdesOfMarch01. Identify the emperor from a highly cropped picture of his denarius. The initially “analog" quiz was put into an offsite interactive quiz. http://www.tifcollection.com/coin-quiz-4 https://www.cointalk.com/threads/physical-descriptions-of-roman-emperors.284862/page-2#post-2538698 From @TIF. Offsite multiple choice quiz; guess the emperor based on contemporary written physical descriptions. This is a fun one (says the quiz writer and person compiling this list ). It is fill-in-the-blank rather than multiple choice and I tried to account for spelling variations. The contemporary descriptions are of questionable accuracy since some of those writers were known to be biased. The quiz probably isn't easy but it is interesting. The correct answer is given after submitting each answer. http://www.tifcollection.com/quiz-5--descriptions-of-roman-emperors https://www.cointalk.com/threads/quiz-game-roman-rulers.286542/ From @chrsmat71. It has been so long since anyone tried that thing, I lost the key. I'm sure I could remake it but will wait for the need. I did my quiz as an exercise to see if I could make a quiz that search engines could not defeat. The recent portrait recognition quizzes certainly accomplished that.
