In another thread, @dougsmit said this: "I wonder how many of us could do well on a test where we are shown photos of a few members' coins and had to name the owner. I think Steve, TIF, Bing, Ides, JA, AJ and VK (sorry not to mention everyone who qualifies here) have distinctive enough collecting styles that I might do well if the selections were made to be representative rather than trying to fool." So, I made a quiz. Match the coin with the owner. Admittedly, the coins I chose were often not particularly representative nor did I provide many clues. It's a first attempt using this quiz software and it was a hasty job. Maybe in the future I'll work on a bigger/better matching quiz using coins more representative of the owners' collections. At the moment there are only twelve questions... all I had time for today . The correct answer and CoinTalk thread link are shown after you answer each question. Post your scores! TIF => that was awesome ... sadly, I only scored 800/1200 (but I guess that's a pass, eh?) ... I got my coin right!! Oh, and I did score 1200/1200 on the second run (hey, I can be trained!!)
I did awful with 600. In my defence I'm using my tablet and there was an add that blocked all but three of the choices and I couldn't scroll the list either. Cool quiz!
400/1200. Weak.... I thought I lurked you guys plenty enough to do better than that. Guess you will be seeing more of me... Lucky y'all.
Seems like the average is 900/1200, which is what I did. Thanks for the quiz TIF I really enjoyed it!
Note that the stats are going to be very skewed. During quiz construction I was answering questions and seeing the responses. It recorded everything (including a multitude of purposefully wrong answers), plus it is posted to the general public and there may be some non-coinfolks taking the quiz (why, I don't know )
700/1200..... I learned four things. 1) go with first guess. Messed up twice changing my answer.....no Jeopardy for me. 2) Been here less than a month and this score leads me to believe I am here too much already. 3) I must stop telling my kids they spend too much time with their electronics. It is hypocritical. 4) TIF has much time on her hands and an imagination to fill it.
The display must vary with device and screen types. The quiz template allows for six choices. I used five for each because that's how many show on my screen without scrolling. I wish I knew how to create programs and apps... I'd like to make my own quiz formats and other things. Add "computer software development" to the endless lists of things I want to learn (and probably never will).
