Hello all! Hoping everyone is doing well. Today, I'm calling it "Walk About Wednesday 2"! The sequel. A thread about coins with figures (people or animals) walking around. Where are they going? BK of course for Whopper Wednesday! Post them a walking if you will..... (Doesn't have to be a Walker either.)
Two silver ounces that toned due to a rubber band being wrapped around them. Both were in a plastic flip and I didn’t put the rubber band on them. I just didn’t open the box that had them in their until a few years later.
X-Rays of my knees. The one on the right is my left knee. It was done 2 years ago next month. The one on the left is my right knee that was replaced 18-20 years ago. I’d have to look it up to be sure but it’s been a long time ago. If you look and the bones and the implants you can see the difference.
This little piggie seems to be walking around, although he might be running. This little bird is out for a walk at the beach: This elephant is walking through the jungle:
Deja vu... haven't we been here before? Oh well. Here is Victory walking. Is Liberty walking on this one? Maybe.
Oh. Animals walking, too. Yeah, I have a few of those as well. This Celtic horse seems to be galloping, but close enough. Celtic Tribes (Catuvellauni & Trinovantes): ca. 8-41 AD gold quarter-stater of Cunobelin This lion could be walking (or maybe he's just giving the high five). Yeah, he's kind of a weird-looking lion. But in a cool way. (Looks more lamb than lion, I guess.) German States (Brunswick-Lüneburg): ca. 1195-1213 silver bracteate of William Longsword Another (galloping) horse. Lithuania: 1550 silver half-grosz of Sigismund II Augustus of Poland, Vilnius mint ... and yet another. German States (Teutonic Order): ca. 1615 silver 1/4-thaler of Grand Master Maximilian of Austria Is this lion walking, or just kinda standing there? It's up for debate. Swiss Cantons (Zürich): 1739 silver "city view" 1/2-thaler (1 gulden of 36 schillings) Another horse. Prancing or rearing rather than walking, I guess, but ... eh... OK. Great Britain: 1901 gold half-sovereign of Queen Victoria, from the Dr. Jacob Terner collection ... and again. Germany (Westphalia): 1923 gilt tombac hyperinflationary 10,000-mark notgeld token Dude on the right looks like he's walking. "Right this way, Comrade!" Russia (Soviet Union): 1924- ПЛ silver rouble, Leningrad mint A slowly walking polar bear. Lucky for you. If it was running, you'd be dead. Greenland: 1926 (h) HCN GJ copper-nickel 25-øre, Copenhagen mint Walking? Yeah, sorta. More like stalking. Beware! Ghana: 2017 silver 5-cedis of Elizabeth II, African Leopard commemorative, 1-ounce, .999 fine
