Only reason I can think of for blocking out the grade and cert number are if the picture is of a genuine one and they intend to send you a fake one in a fake slab. That way you can't really prove so easily the coin doesn't match the one listed.

 

I've only run across one other seller who has blotted out the cert number. I asked him to send it to me (just out of curiosity). Never heard a word from him.
