I really don't see copper surpassing silver at any point in time. I do, on the other hand, eventually seeing silver possibly topping gold in the future though. If not, it will be pretty darn close.
I highly doubt it will. The reason is copper is sold in pounds as I write this $4/pound and silver is measured in oz's and as of writing this about $30 an oz. Silver will always outperform copper because it is a rarer metal. Just plain and simple the answer is NO!
I really don't see copper taking over silver. I feel that both silver and gold are too high up right now and I don't see any other metal being as high. I do think that the value of copper will rise, however I do not see it getting as high as silver. As a precious metals collector, I am going to stick to silver and gold.
I think copper will always and definitely have it's own identity but I think it will never exceed silver.. But who knows..
