Why is the bullion forum mostly silver discussion?

    10 oz of silver is harder to misplace than a 1/10th of gold.
    and cheaper to fill up the bathtub to "enrich" oneself with it.

    Hi folks,

    You've listed all the reasons - but I think expense has always been the largest with the majority. Silver is seen by some as 'the poor man's gold'.

    When I was young it was the best I could do. Now that I'm older and can do both, I do - BUT I like to play with silver because the leverage is so huge compared to gold. I've been playing since the Hunt Bros when gold grew three fold while silver went up ten fold. During the Big Bonanza (2002-2011), pretty much the same thing happened [as an aside the real leverage is with junior silver miners but watch out for nose bleeding action].

    As for stacking, feh. Cripes, you can stash a tube of gold eagles in your oatmeal box. About 1" x 2" and worth ~$25K. As for silver, buy a 100 oz bar, paint it black and use it for a door stop.

    Or a few hundred, paint them brown and build a retaining wall for he garden bed.
