Why does the US coin market have such a poor web presence?

I have over a hundred and fifty US coin seller websites in Bookmarks, and I quit adding them five or six years ago. A Vcoins equivalent (I've bought a few US coins via them, and am looking at one in another tab as I type this) wouldn't be possible. Nor would it be necessary; the inability to bury oneself under links to US coin sellers is more an operator problem than an existence problem.

I'd be surprised if there were 150 major dealers' web sites that don't suffer one or more of the problems I listed in my earlier post. Care to share your top 5 or 10 favorites?

I think you're right, that there's so much business elsewhere. Someone mentioned resistance to change, which is true too. And the problems with scam buyers. My local shop has been there 35-40 yrs and they have no intention of selling online and have no web presence whatsoever, but they are successful. They attend shows and sometimes just vest pocket deal at them. I'm sure they have many resources to sell what comes in the shop, so I'm sure they sell to people who do have online sales

You're not wrong; given the resistance to change I mentioned earlier, many of them require a little patience to navigate. :)

Many of my favorites are to be found on Collectors' Corner. At the higher end I'm partial to Northeast Numismatics, DLRC (despite the bog-slow update they invoked a year or so ago), JJ Teaparty, Pinnacle, Gary Adkins, Gerry Fortin....heck, there ain't enough space to list 'em all and I have to get into the shower for work. :)

At the lower end, nobody's any better than Mike at Alaska Coin Exchange. Full stop. Except his website is acting up these days....

    Even better, go here:

foriegn dealers want to sell to Americans so they need to be on line. FWIW, OpenNusmismat has market features that would likely make inventory control pretty straight forward and easy.
