Who the hell is buying these 1 gram gold?

At a garage sale recently that had coins, there were a couple of credit card size holders that had 1 GRAIN of gold embedded...I bought both of them for my sons-in-law.

Just realized that the price of gold is now well over five dollars per grain. Wow.

 

Which kind of defeats the whole "precious metal for the end of civilization" argument - if you can't make small change.

Yup, surprised me too...looked up "grain" and the little reading I did says it is the FIRST weight standard recorded!
