Relatively speaking, Obama is a pretty young president. There is a good chance he might be around for another 35-40 years in which time there will be plenty of adults that were not around when he was president or were too young to remember many details except the more famous or infamous ones. A lot will depend upon how history treats him.

As and example of this, at the time, Jimmy Carter was hailed as a big breath of fresh air after the Nixon/Ford years and he racked up a number of accolades with the public at the time having to do with putting himself at personal risk at TMI for the public's good, and pushing alternative energy programs, and adding a lot of transparency to government. However he has been demonized, IMO unfairly, by a large quarter for Iran and most today consider him a failure. Not to say that it will happen, but my guess is that Obama's status won't have much bearing on what happens to these coins.

President's don't die that often so if they have to go a number of years before they can issue new coins, it would be my guess the program will end.
