What is the purpsoe of grading ASEs and the like?

    I'm sure that it is only a matter of time before we see coins sold with the description, "MS70 cleaned, net grade MS69." A few years ago I was able to buy several ASEs that were slabbed and graded MS64 and MS65. But because the grade was so low, they sold at a discount to melt value. Go figure.
