    ROMAN REPUBLICAN. Manius Aquillius. Struck circa 71/65 BC. AR Denarius Serratus. NGC AU (About Uncirculated) Strike 5/5 Surface 4/5. Rome. 3.81gm. VIRTVS III VIR / MN•AQVIL MN•F•MN•N. Helmeted and draped bust of Virtus right / Warrior holding shield in left hand and lifting up fallen figure of Sicilia with right; SICIL in exergue. Sear 336; Cr401/1; Syd 798.

    Interesting type and great example. The toning is lovely and a few of the serrated edges still look sharp enough to cut. Be careful when you handle it!
