I think interest will wane as the more iconic sites have their coins issued and we are left with the more obscure places. Hot Springs sold out because it was the first in the series. As a national park, however, it's not that great. Yellowstone and Yosemite should sell out because they are tremendous places. Grand Canyon may all sell. Mount Hood is not even a national park, so I don't think we will see them all sell. Gettysburg and Vicksburg are not national parks, so they're up in the air. Glacier is fantastic, but not as many people go there as Yellowstone ahd Yosemite. Olympic is nice, but not up to the caliber of some of the others. Chicasaw had its national park status revoked and is pretty much just a recreational area.

In summary, we should see 4 sell-outs or 5 at most by the end of this year. The Mint's strategy to have 1 site represented from each state rather than have all of the national parks represented is going to cost them a fair amount of sales. We have no Grand Tetons, no Crater Lake, no Death Valley, no Bryce Canyon. We do, however, have Chicasaw and the Shawnee National Forest. Oh, boy! Actually, out of the 56 coins that are due to be issued, less than 20 actually honor a national park. Instead of having all of the most beautiful and inspiring places in our country represented, we have once again surrendered ourselves to the overplayed concept of political correctness. Sigh.
