Bottom corroded one is definitely a large date
Top one is also a large date. LIBERTY is well struck and the 9 & size of 8.
here's a good thread of information ==> https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1982-lincoln-cents.319211/#post-3122612
You are correct. Both large dates.
Thanks Guys, I got a couple more if you don't mind...
5x Large date
though the 2nd & last one looks like a woodie cent ==> https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1948-cent-woodie.311592/
please read the other thread and learn to identify them yourself ....
some of it copied here
You're probably rushing yourself not looking at the curve going into the base of the 2. Take your time. You also probably want to see something on your cents that is NOT there.
and keep in mind there are all these varieties. but i'm sure you wrote it down next to you as you search from that one article
The 7 Business Strike Varieties (8 total with the 1 rare one):
1982 Large Date Copper
1982 Large Date Copper plated Zinc
1982 Small Date Copper
1982 Small Date Copper plated Zinc
1982 D Large Date Copper
1982 D Large Date Copper plated Zinc
1982 D Small Date Copper plated Zinc
1982-D small date copper (1 known to exist). This is the one all the fake youtube videos are made for thinking you can find one making it seem they are readily available and easily found.
Think they are all large, but...You guys know better than I do....Thanks ahead of time
Right again, all large.
Well thanks Clawcoins, have to tell you that my eyes are not as good as they
used to be....Been fighting off Glaucoma for a bunch of years now and I have been winning....But think it's maybe making another come back as I am not seeing
as good as I used to....
My eyes took a dive about 10 years ago.
But you have to learn all the little indicators, use a magnifying glass and think that something "isn't" rather than it "is". Prove that it "is" rather than hoping it "is" and getting disproven on many errors, etc.
It used to be I could look at a coin and see all the intricate details without glasses. Now with glasses on, a nice low but bright light and a 10x and 20x loop I have to stare. Ugh. If I stare too long I can convince myself otherwise of something.
I got new lenses in my eyes. They have serial numbers and everything. Only goes so far.
Every pic on this thread is a large date. The second one is a corroded large date. I can tell by the distance from the lowest righthand point of the "2" to the rim. It's too SHORT to be a small date.
I was a truckdriver and equipment operator just about all my life. Put 20 years in the Teamsters, then I went out on my own.. Bought a triaxle dump and started making some nice money....Then I got cataracts ...In both eyes...Was really tough trying to see...Especially truck driving...I could see the traffic lights but I could not tell which one was lit....Night driving... I tried not to do any night driving but there were a few times I had too....Not with the truck, no way...But with my car..If another car was coming at me, it looked like someone painted my windshield white...Could not see anything...Also fog....Even light fog would mess me up...Here's what's funny, I thought everytime it was the thickest fog I have ever seen...I could not believe it, where the heck is all this super thick fog coming from!??...I realized I could not drive any longer like that....I had the cataracts removed and new lenses put in and could see 20/20 again!!…..That was Awesome!!...But nothing lasts forever now does it? Before I knew it Glaucoma started creeping into both of my eyes...So dealing with that now....I am pretty sure I might /will lose my vision somewhere down the road, But hey! it was a nice ride anyways!
Maybe this one will help.
Even the small date Denver has no value over face.
Only the small date Philly zinc and small date Philly copper in high grades.
Separate names with a comma.
