LOL, Yeah, the Ant is an AVG type - only 20 known! - (well, the coin broke off where the AVG was, so the PIETAS AVG on the reverse makes up for it.) Disclaimer: for all the Ancient Newbies, sometimes we joke with our friends... And, the AE Saloninus? It is the RNBA Version (Rome National Basketball Association), where the reverse features Saly playing B-ball, and cuz he is AVG, he gets to slap one of the opponents to his feet. Geez... EMPERORs making KIDS Emperors... Didn't they LEARN with Elagabalus??? Here's Grampa V 1 (Well, HE screwed up an Empire...) RI Valerian I 253-260 CE AR Ant Felicitas stndg Caduceus and Cornucopia

According to Michael Grant (The Roman Emperors, 1985) Valerian I elevated his oldest grandson, Valerian II, to Caesar "early in 256." His premature death two years later opened the door for his younger brother, Saloninus, who died at the hands of Postumus just two years after that; right at the time their grandfather was taken captive by Shapur I. It seems that 260 A.D. was a tough year to be on the throne.
