These scumbags are all over the place. Financial predators. I was late on a quarterly tax payment on a piece of property I own this year. There are many that comb the tax records looking for delinquent taxes, and they are predatory buyers. One "scoped" me out this year. And while the taxes were already paid by the time he got his form letter mailings out - I took it as an opportunity to put in a nice "Yelp" review of his business. He sent me an offer of a paltry amount for my property and the marketing fluff saying it's a very fair and reasonable offer - and will take the stress and burden off of me by relieving me of the need to maintain the property. I've turned down offers that were in excess of 20 times his offer - it was a serious joke. I did a bit of research on the guy, and he's into all kinds of these scam businesses. Help you recover government money (for a big fee), buy your underwater real estate, even car title loans. He's a scumbag predator. The sad part is that there are so many of these guys out there -and all it takes is one good score on someone else's ignorance. He's now made a new "friend" in me, and I'll keep an eye out for my neighbors. Caveat Emptor
