This really bothers me

These silver bars with their pretty designs on them are nothing more than booby traps for the unsuspecting. The clear implication is that somehow or another they carry an additional value, which they don't.

I'm sure you meant to say intrinsic value. They can have additional appeal to collectors, like an exceptional strike or a bean does, for resale value.
