And the winner again for this thread. The coin sold for $1012.51. Insane money in my opinion.

    On the Bay?
That's ridiculous even if someone thought it was DMPL.

No, it was on GreatCollections. They have been getting strong money lately on there. They are really developing a following. The price was insane! I would have considered possibly 1/4th of that.

I just bought this today. (Sellers pic and no I don’t have a pic of the reverse). Anyone want to guess the holder premium? This coin retails for $100. But there’s something special about this holder.

That looks like quite the score! I'm guessing you got it for slightly above retail at $125 and will get at least $1,500 for it (and quite possibly over $2k).

So I paid $1350 for the coin. It was not on the census of Gen 1.0 holders, so it’s a new discovery. Definitely a gold CAC candidate, even from the poor picture. There are less than 50 Gen 1.0 holders known, and this was so special I had to offer strong.

Not the absolute steal I had guessed but still a below market price for a rare holder with a stunning coin (last one of these I saw had a Franklin with milk spots and still went for more than you paid for this coin).

Spoiler alert, I have 3 gen 1.0 that are not on the census and 2 gen 1.1.
Apparently the Gen 1.0 were used the first 1-3 days PCGS began then Gen 1.1 was used for around 2 weeks after that until the correct shipment of paper inserts arrived for them. But anyway.... 5 previously unknown coins/holders will be in my hands in the next week or two!

Very nice. That's the only old PCGS slab that I don't have a specimen of. Currently less than 50 known out of what I suspect was a production of around 800 or so slabs

I’ll try to post all of them once I get them in hand and properly photographed. Do you have a Gen 1.1? The ones that start with #1081 and have the white label but the slightly different dot matrix?
