Looks like I'm making my items too easy to guess as both here and the latest toner were guessed by the very first poster ...this one did indeed sell for 225 @baseball21 you're up... Point totals: baseball21 - 3 Points ddddd - 2 Points Beefer518 - 1 Point heavycam.monstervam - 1 Point
Thread revival attempt.... 1946 Iowa Commem MS-65 in an NGC vintage Black Holder. Sold about 5 years ago. Price guides all have these valued around $125. What'ya say?
$2,800 ...the NGC black is one of the rarest and most valued holders for slab enthusiasts...usually prices are at least $1,500-$2,000 over guide
$2200. I'm basing that on the holder being in nice condition with no chips. Even if upgraded to 66 it would be a $100 coin so really only the holder matters.
@Pickin and Grinin hit it within $10. Sold for $2640 with BP No way would I pay that for a piece of plastic.

So this is the only thread on CT where the advice “buy the coin not the holder” goes totally out the window
Here’s one that I found photos of, an early generation PCI holder that I bought in 1995 and recently sold. If I understand correctly, these were considered to be accurately graded, and the number of digits in the serial number can be used to differentiate these from later PCI iterations that look similar but are more likely to be overgraded. PCGS Guide has this at 215 for a 62 and 220 for a 63, pretty sure actual retail is less.
