Okay, here’s a recent pickup. Normally I stay away from the yellow ANACS slabs but couldn’t pass this one up. It was minted for the French colonies but sat around unused until 1793 until it got counter stamped and released in Martinique. PCGS Guide has it at 115 for an F12 and the examples I’ve seen in PCGS/NGC are going for that much and more.

Everyone guessed high on this one, just like the last round that I won. I paid $56.78 with free shipping. jtlee321, you’re up.
And Mainebill with the highest guess gets honorable mention. The last recorded sale before I bought it a couple weeks ago on EBay was in 2012 on Heritage for $138. I can’t imagine that the market for colonials has changed that much in 6 years. It’s more likely that someone just wanted it more during that auction than when I bid on EBay on a Friday afternoon.

Ok, here's one that I had been on the hunt for a while. This was the first 1913 Type 1 I've seen come up for sale in the old NGC holder with the gold logo on the back. The topper was that it wasn't an MS-63 or MS-64, I was excited to see it available as an MS-65. PCGS guide on an MS-65 is $135.00. What did I pay?
