In many respects, China's growth has been hampered for 200 years - first by the British, then by themselves. There are many interesting parameters, but they all add up to one thing : with 1.3 billion people, China is way, way, way behind on a per-capita basis. Even on an absolute basis. That said, there are many things we Westerners can do better, as nations and individually. I believe "Everybody is better off when everybody is better off". China is overdue; I wish them well. They need growth a lot more than we do. Notice that the official "low income line" in China is $125 / year ![/QUOTE]
