I suppose this thread is partially in tandem with your recent purchase as detailed in your other thread so I'm providing that link here for others that may have missed it: I'm officially a gold stacker

BTW: Congrats on the the HUGE purchase and thanks for sharing such an image with the forum.

I believe the question of restrikes here to be one of: Numismatics vs. Bullion.

If you are not *collecting* then don't worry about restrikes. The Mexican coins are known for their restrikes but, and correct me if I am wrong, you are buying for bullion content for the purpose of protecting your wealth, not as some sort of collector. Of course there are non-numismatic collectors of bullion products and numismatists who may collect bullion too. Unless you are a hybrid of these or intend to become a collector of these I would stick to the idea that you are investing in bullion.

Personally, gold Libertads and restrike European gold coins (the ones for bullion purposes) look better than generic bars but you know well by now how simple aesthetics can affect price over spot and when/where to take advantage of this pricing. For purity familiarity, and ease of liquidation if/when the time comes for you, government issued bullion: buffalos/eagles/maples, etc. are the way to go (IMO). While you may feel there is a certain mark up over spot compared to generic bullion buying in, you will also (typically) get a better price getting out than you would with generic bullion that a buyer/dealer would be less familiar with.

Just my 2¢ and hope this gives you some context to go by. :thumb:
