I have quite a few St. Gudens mini gold coins can any one tell me if they are worth anything and if so around what? thanks so much
Gold content only, I'm afraid, and that can vary wildly depending on the piece. Most are only gold plated, while some are gold-filled, and a few are solid gold. Ebay prices vary anywhere from $1-2 each to $20 per 100. There are a TON of them on eBay. Here's a few, you'll have to be logged into eBay to view them: http://cgi.ebay.com/100-Lot-St-Gaudens-Gold-Coins-BAR-MINI-SCRAP-REPLICA-NR-/160483983252?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item255d973f94 http://cgi.ebay.com/ST-GAUDENS-AMERICAN-EAGLE-MINI-GOLD-COIN-REPLICA-/370434227695?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item563f99bdef http://cgi.ebay.com/50-ST-GAUDENS-AMERICAN-EAGLE-MINI-REPLICA-GOLD-COINS-/370434628472?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item563f9fdb78
Are you sure they are not 1/10 ounce gold eagles? It would look like this http://cgi.ebay.com/1996-Gold-Ameri...173?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf1ef7735
IF they are not replica's and are bullion type coins then they are going to be worth melt value. if they are old (pre 1933) then they are going to carry a heavy premium. so if you have a 2.5 (1/10) gold piece then it is worth a 10th of the gold price. it is worth about 120 right now plus any premium. just take the value of gold and multiple it by the type of gold coin you have. i do believe they run 1/10, 1/4, 1/2, 1 ounze. so if you have a 20 dollar coin that is 1 ounce it is about 1,250 bucks. if you have a 10 then it is worth half of that and a 5 is half of that and a 2.5 is 1/10 of that.
