Some to be looking out for at Swapmeets/Pawn~ non-magnetic ASE 'feits

    I'd like to test the diamagnetic properties with these and a real proof ASE. Brass is slightly diamagnetic and will exhibit a slight repelling/pushing effect when a strong magnet is run over it. Unfortunately these don't look too bad when compared to a real one........the ray going through the L is a bit off, and Mercanti's initials are slightly bigger, but I could see how they'd fool someone.

    I like how the seller claims that they only sell them "to make your collections more perfect." Lol, that's precious.

    Thanks for posting this.

    There have been a few times where I have seen interesting bullion at flea markets or farmers' markets. No matter how tempting, it's just safer to pass.

    I assume they mean silver plated brass instead of "brass plated"

    The only "test" many know from their bullion buddies is the magnet test. If it passed that, I think it would catch a few. Yes, the language is a little off.
