Somehow, I’m not sure how, my portfolio wound up with six shares of Sprint. I’d have to pay more than it’s worth to sell it. Still, it’s fun to watch.

Sometimes when companies spin stuff off, you end up with a few shares of some garbage. I got rid of a bunch of those last year because I was tired of looking at it. They are usually tax-free spin offs.

    $9,599. Kurt, is this “capitulation?”

I dunno, I capitulated a long time ago. "This time is" NEVER "different". Bubbles are what they are, and they chart what they chart like NOT because the chart does anything per se, but because the charts accurately predict the very same psychologies that mark all bubbles. Only the magnitudes and the number of "ripples" change, due to faster access to accurate quotes.

It’s simply reacting to the news that it might be regulated more or banned in its biggest markets. If the Asian market for it goes there’s no where else that will pick up the slack at this point. It lives and dies by south east Asia

Yes but, this is what always happens to bubbles - some authority or another does something to change the calculus. Sometimes it's increased margin requirements, sometimes it's ending trading. The thing is - a catalyst to alter the status quo is needed and inevitably some entity or other provides one.

Okay, where is the great chorus of "be bold when everyone else is afraid", "buy when there's blood in the streets", yadda yadda? To be countered by the equally "wise" "don't try to catch a falling knife"?

One vote for buying when there is blood in streets. Cheaper then a trip to vegas and no hangover.

Facebook is banning all crypto ads. That certainly won’t help

Yes but they allow click bait ads which give you fake viruses.

I will occasionally try to catch a falling knife. It’s catching a falling chainsaw running wide open that gives me pause.
