Here's some Series 2 Texas Ranger's Hall of Fame. I bought them from someone that put paper between the plastic and the coin. Not good!

How did you acquire this US mint bar?

It was back during the Hunt brothers silver mania 1979-80. A local dealer had a box of "junk silver" - mostly sterling silverware. You could rummage through the box and buy anything in it at spot. At the end of the week, it all went off to a refiner.
Even though I knew the silver price was still ridiculously high, I couldn't bear to see it go into the melting pot, so I plunked down about $600 for it.

Nice piece! - much smaller SF US Mint stamped bars are selling for four figures on eBay (they're 999.5 fine) - The round dated hallmark was used from 1956 to 1960 when ingot production ended entirely at the San Francisco Mint. 1959 pre-dates the Hunt Bros. silver spike by 20 yrs., so your bar is definitely 'vintage' ;)
