I am Bowing my head Not in Shame Though .That when I could have gotten 50 a ounce I chose to hold!! But I would bet a lot of folks didn't, And that is probably why it dipped back to the high forty's for a few days.
I sold a double eagle a FUN last years and seven ounces of silver at a local show several months back. Do I wish I had them back? Of course….. I won’t sell anything else though until I have to. I am enjoying this ride.
I sold the bulk of my silver a few years ago when it hit 25.00 Because I needed a new Lawn Tractor. Do I wish I had it Yes But I really needed the Garden Tractor. I about almost close to doubled my price so I am still grateful. I also sold a 5 ounce Homestead and a philharmonics and a few 90% at 58.00 when spot was $66.00 to a family member. I text them silver spot daily and say SELL SELL SELL!! To make myself feel better if the bottom drops out.
Is that when you went with your son or SIL to Atlantic City for a weekend of debauchery? As long as you had a good time! I think I remember that, and silently went, "oh no!"
Well all I can say is Go check you're box each month, that way if something is a miss you'll only be 30 days behind There was a recent story of the bank following a law enforcement request and drilling open some boxes they somehow transposed the last two numbers and got someone's coin collection...gold and silver coins. All the boxes opened got thrown in one box and held as evidence
Whatta freakin' nitemare for the collector. He's gonna be out a collection of coins that are gonna wind up in a police auction. The cops are bigger thieves than the bad guys......
I knew a couple that had a house broken in 3 times in a year. Each time they lost some guns, some of the wife's jewelry and a small safe with $5000 in cash (that was coincidentally the same amount their insurance company would cover) after the 3rd burglary the insurance representative said that's all the underwriting company would accept and closed their policy. Another coincidence, the house didn't get broken into again.
I didn't ask any questions but always wondered if the insurance representative was a friend of theirs.
That kind of thing actually happened in California. Why am I not surprised? This happened 3 years ago. Hmmm.......go figure.
Yup, I saw his post and was going to reply as I just saw a few youtube videos about it, plus I think we chatted about it years ago in other SDB vs Home Safe threads. My SDB Box has markings (paper with clear packing tape over it ) plus markings all inside of who owns it and contact info. With a clear known inventory video'd. here was one of the YT videos . here's a list of YT videos about all the problems. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=bank+safe+deposit+box+problems
With the ability take photographs with time stamps -- both the SDB Owner and the bank -- I would think some insurance companies might insure if they have adequate assurances that the contents are independently verified. But maybe not. Even though I think insuring said contents at a bank is a very low risk proposition for the insurance company, as opposed to doing it in a residential house.
That's why I store a few pounds of highly refined uranium and plutonium amongst the PMs. If you steal anything you're gonna' glow a vibrant blue for a few weeks, before turning pale green.
Stopped by one of my local coin shops today just to see what kind of collector coins they had in inventory and the line of people was out the door. Chatted with a few of them and the consensus was that most were looking to buy silver.
I'm surprised...with the internet and people having access to the news every day, I though the "bunch ups" of the 1970's and 1980's were a thing of the past. If retail and the public are looking to BUY....then fasten your seat belt, we're onto the top of the 9th inning.
