Nice move! Some on these forums would argue that if you hold/wait you'll make more. There are some who are still buying feverishly and urge others to "buy now before it's too late!" I disagree with that line of thinking. It reminds me of people piling into tech stocks in 1999. I don't think anyone can fault you for making 10X on your investment. I'm glad to see people taking profits. I got into PMs about 7 years ago. I'm considering selling while we're still riding the bull to the top. I think we've got a few more months, maybe a couple of years, but make no mistake, this bull market too shall end.
I think you need to be happy with what your doing if you think its a good time to buy then buy if you think it is a good time to sell then sell. My strategy is to collect for the loung haul maybe sell off some here or there but start selling when im in my 50s and hopefully have a good chunk of PM if it drops i will defiantly be buying larger amounts
I don't really like to compare precious metals to stocks. They're not pieces of paper, numbers floating in cyberspace, IOU's, or representations of value. They ARE value, and are in a class of their own. Sure there is the paper trade which influences the physical price, but that paper has no intrinsic value and is not representative of the physical supply. It is a fact that the amount of shorts in the paper trade outweighs the amount of longs (for both gold and silver), so if it were to disappear the physical price would have to go up. Gold is a meter for measuring buying power. That is it's primary function as a store of wealth. It doesn't do much else, and what it is telling us today is that we have a lot less buying power than we used to. Silver has posted 100% year over year gains each month since March of this year. What exactly is being done that could stop this trend that not even margin hikes can impact?
