    the melt value

do you know the melt value of those forgotten coins?.

modern commemorative unc. silver dollar - $14.28

    modern commemorative unc. gold $5.00 - $229.56

5 pc statehood silver proof quarters set - $16.99

maximum retail price for modern commemorative unc silver dollar is $20.95. you can get any price at $20.95 or below depending on dealers. i saw some still selling at $14.95.

maximum retail price for 5 pc statehood silver proof quarters set is $24.95. again some dealers still selling $19.50 - $19.95.

Oh:eek:...I have mixed emotions. I need some time to think about it! With silver going up $1.00 per ounce in one day...that is a massive increase. I want more time to contemplate. Dang...I really don't want to sell anything, but if it keeps going up....??? So Elaine, are you going to ring the bell when it is time to sell??? I need guidance.

    silver on the move.

silver climb to $19.28 per ounce. up 30.62% since dec.31, 2007

palladium hit record high $554.00 per ounce. up 52.2% since dec.31, 2007.

gold also break record high $957.10 per ounce. up 14.8%.

if the mint sell the 2007 w unc am eagle silver dollar today. it will cost us $29.95 each. while the proof version can be maintained at $31.95 or up another $2.00 to $33.95.

i wonder how much it will cost the next modern commemorative silver dollar. will be be over $40.00 for pre-issue price?. why not buy the common one at $14.95 each.

I guess I'm "one of the few," then. I doubt it'll ever see $8/oz. again, but but I would at least like to strike at the $10 range. I want a bag or two of "junk silver" dimes to try my hand at cherry pickin'.

    Close yesterday was $18.81.

Not that I am opposed to $20, I'll take it.

    Or will I?
    How to decide?
