They'll never replace cash, as they have to be converted to cash first. They'll be a few ppl who understand PMs for barter but that would be far down the list from water, ammo, etc in those type of disasters. In case of those type of disasters, the entire electronic "PM spot" systems won't be working anyways so PMs may hold no value unless in coinage, at face value. But who knows about the unknown.
