Collecting the Mint State uncirculated versions of the ASE's in the raw form is good, especially if they are needed for investment purposes. Raw silver coins can always be used as a form of currency in times of great need. Their value will of coarse be tied to the market value of silver at the time, and whether the value is more or less then what you paid for them, they will be worth more then paper currency. Example; a $1.00 bill is worth $1.00, (actually less if you go by it's value), but a $1.00 ASE is currently worth approx. $17.00 roughly.

My suggestion for a collection of ASE's in the Mint State uncirculated version, would be to assemble a collection of MS69 coins from either NGC, (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation), or PCGS, (Professional Coin Grading Service). Right now, with the cost of Silver as low as it is, even with the fluctuations, you can pick up the MS69 coins for just a few dollars more then you can buy the uncertified raw coins. They would be permanently sealed in the coin holders, which means no damage to the coins, and they can easily be stored in multiple types of coin storage holders. To all the others reading this, NO I DO NOT WORK FOR ANY THIRD PARTY GRADING COMPANIES.

Bmann33, I only mention this because, the price difference is not that much between RAW and CERTIFIED ASE's, and when you collect the certified versions, you are almost certainly going to get authentic real 99.9 pure silver coins. Believe it or not, there are some really good counterfeiters out there, and I personally have seen hundreds of FAKE Coins, (I can't call them ASE's because they're fakes), and some have been so good, that the only way to verify they were fakes, was by the silver acid test. OK, I'll shut up now![/QUOTE]
