Nothing has changed to alter all investment market patterns. The election results in France were baked in as soon as it was known the two extremists would not be in the runoff.
JMB always ships free over $99. SD bullion charges $6.95. Point is premiums are low. Shipping has not changed.
several others also have free shipping at $100 and over. I *always* include the shipping charges in overall acquisition cost of anything that I purchase. Otherwise, you might as well do Next Day Shipping. Thus if I purchase only 6 ASE's from SD Bullion (Random year as it's the cheapest) that comes out to $19.70 for each. $18.54 each plus $6.95 shipping / 6 = $1.158 compared to Provident which would be $19.14 for 6 2013's with free shipping. I'm hoping for the Total Cost to go into the $18s each in low quantities. I'm in no hurry, I buy some from time to time. For me, It's only a storage of wealth for portfolio diversification anyways.
I am also hoping for further drops. I also have set prices when to buy an sell and focus less on premiums. I'd happily pay 30% if spot was 5.00, assuming the other dealers are charging the same. Conversely, I'm not buying silver with no premium if spot is to high.
Yeah but "$16 an ounce" has a nice "ring" to it doesn't it ? LOL Provident is at $19.01 of 2013s UniversalCoin is at $18.64 Cash/$19.39 credit. Though add $6.50 for USPS Priority to mail a paper check to them, or less with FirstClass.
Oddly as spot goes down, Provident's price just went up a penny to $19.02 for 2013s. So did UniversalCoins .. up a penny for cash but down 7 cents for CC. I don't think they want to offer them for under $19 unless it becomes a large variance.
I just picked up 6 from Provident for $18.42 each shipped. they just had "their choice" batch come up for sale. and they're all gone now ... 5 minutes later
That was the cheapest ASEs .. not picking dates, just picking the lowest cost ASE available. They happened to have the 2013's lower than all the other ASEs. Then they had a brief flash sale of "any date", which I picked up. 9 out of 10 I'll buy the "any dates". But those are not available all the time. APMEX has a more consistent "any date", but has higher prices. The 2013's are down to $18.98 now with spot at $16.09 bid/$16.19 ask.
