Why only 42%? Why not the whole 142%? Well, actually, after tax it is more likely to be around 100%.

There are no taxes when done within a Roth IRA at my age. :)

"Earnings on investments within a Roth IRA are neither subject to income tax nor are they included in the IRA owner's income. Instead, they accumulate on a tax-deferred basis and are tax free when withdrawn from the Roth if the distribution is qualified."

The IRS with their 28% capital gains taxes on Precious Metals come tax time.

Dow Jones future opened down 94 points, or about 0.5 percent.

Gold futures are up also! Might be an interesting tomorrow. Insurance stocks will most likely drag stocks down a little.

I have a silver question for ya? While going through the Big safe, I have found that I have silver panda's from 2011 up to 2017. But no 2016 I did not know I even bought them every year. I just checked provident's site and they want like $8.00 over spot for the 16 .with a $19.37 buy back. So should I try to find a 16 for my set or just say oh well and move on?
    THANKS JON

Dealers will never give full value - they would never make a profit otherwise. But you would probably get full value by trying to sell on one of the popular online auction sites. So if you enjoy the idea of having a complete set then I say buy it. If you are just doing it to have it, then it is up to you.

with the recent jump in spot silver, I've stopped filling in my ASE set. I'm missing only a couple years but I can wait until silver goes back down .. whether that is this year or next year. I'm in no hurry.

It all depends upon how "urgent" it is for you to keep your collection going.

You can pass all the laws you want but crooks are still going to engage in whatever crooked endeavor is their specialty. The question with white collar crime, always, is whether the penalty is sufficient enough to discourage the activity by others. Often, I'm afraid, it's not.

Yup, until they penalize the head honcho fairly significantly they'll always try to get away with it. In this case for years. Many of these cases show years worth of history of these things.

They have to have an immediately penalty of $10 billion dollars (and confiscation of assets) for the head honcho PLUS 5-10 years in jail with decreasing penalties going down the chain of command.
