Yes, PMs will drop down to $0 becz the gov't will be shut down. :)
it might float a tad higher than $0 though.
So be prepared for PMs to get crushed, to drop some, stay steady or go up.

Don't worry about short term. And long term the answer is no. it never has in the past.

    PMs have GLOBAL price pressures.
So don't worry about one gov't having issues keeping their oars in the water.

What did PM prices do when Greece was about to go bankrupt (I really don't remember, just asking) ?
    or France, Italy, Japan, etc.

Markets were keenly focused Friday morning on the budget woes. The U.S. dollar moving to a near three-year low while Wall Street largely played down any fears of the looming possible shutdown and opened higher before falling about 70 points around midday. i thought I read something about the fed and intrest rates this morn to .

FYI, the DOW moved to negative territory.
Nasdaq and S&P 500 have the same timing of downward spikes but remain steadily positive so far.
    DOW - 48.97
    Nasdaq +26.45
    S&P +5.57

While I maintain nasdaq and S&P index funds, I do not with the DOW. I maintain Large Cap growth funds though which keep up and surpass the DOW and normally aren't dragged down as much when it turns negative.

One hundred and fifty million doesn't sound right either. The 15 mansions that he supposedly owned would probably come out to that much.

Well, the fact that they were foreclosed hints that they were financed with mortgages, not purchased outright, doesn't it?

Now, if he instead had taken that $150 million and put it all into silver and gold from 1996 through 2011 -- well, he'd still have been in trouble with the IRS. But he would've been in a great position to settle up with them in 2011. And buy all that other stuff, too. Just as long as he sold all the PMs in 2011.

People that manage to go bankrupt when they had 100s of millions are just a special kind of stupid.
