A variety (among modern coins). In no particular order: American Silver Eagles, Mexico Silver Libertads, Silver Britannias, 1.25 oz Silver Canadian Bison, Silver Chinese Pandas, Silver Somali Elephants. For each current year, I favor (3) BUs of each + (2) MS70 graded coins. But if the proof version coins is really spectacular, (so aren't so great), I will try to add (2) PF70s. I like have multiples - so I can sell one if I'm every so inclined, but then have a 'spare' to hold on to. Of course, I'm also going back a few years to follow this collecting pattern, but of course finding them is a bit more expensive and some of the 70 coins are hard to find. Also, some moderns have limited mintages sub-sets (e.g. 2015 Silver Britannia 'Plain Fields' - mintage on 10K) or the limited Somali Elephant 'privy' coins (3-5K each BU).

And I also like matching fractional sets of some of the above current coins if they exist as proofs or high mint state . Fractionals are lower mintage, in general, so they appear to me. I got my hands on a Mexico Libertad proof/reverse proof (first ever reverse for Mexico) which very low mintage.

Among older coins, I'm favoring 50c Capped Busts and some BU Morgans. But everyone collects Morgans, so the 'lustre' isn't there - why collect what everyone is collecting?
