    Hello Everyone

I am a novice coin collector and I know to never clean silver coins. However, will cleaning/dipping silver art bars hurt the value of the bar.

IF you bought it as bullion piece or could potentially resale it as as bullion and any future buyer(s) is buying it AS a bullion piece, then no it won't hurt the value. But all in all you may end up with an uglier toned bar down the road if you do clean it IMHO.

I have a few toned bullion silver bars now that have some toning that I just left as is because I did clean one bar many years ago and it came out worse than before after a few months.
