/agreed. I apologize profusely for hijacking the thread. I was enjoying these pics of Britannia. I didn't realize these coins were so attractive nowadays.
You didn't hijack the thread. We we already off topic long ago. We just kind a drifted in that direction.
A very interesting drift. Coming from very partisan, Southern roots myself - I find that digging into the real stories of the events is a real eye opener. The war was an awful experience, and was afterwards for a long time - but I believe in the long run it was a painful necessity to bring to the fore the unfinished business that simmered on from the American Revolution. And back on subject now, I think I will just stick to that menacing British Lion on the 2007 dated Britannia.
I think I like the chariot design the best. I don't mean any disrespect to Mum but I really am tired of looking at her. If they could combine the chariot with the Queen Vickey Gothic crown, I think they'd have a real winner.
I worked in the plastics division of a major petroleum refiner for several years. I know all plastics have strengths and weaknesses. They being a petroleum based derivative have a break down process over time. It is why I don't put too much faith in slabs. They are styrene based polymers that have a "life" before they start breaking down and degrading - and emitting gases etc.
Why oh why would TPGs use something that would damage the coin? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free
