Sorry if this was touched on elsewhere, but just looking to get an idea of what everybody does to store there silver. I'm not talking about security related topics like safe, safety deposit box, under your pillow at night, but rather, how do you store it to prevent the natural wear and tear that occurs (ie, tarnish, spotting, etc). Do you keep it in the tubes that come from the mint? Do you keep your bars in the plastic that it ships in? One idea that was mentioned was a ziploc bag with a tarnish strip and a silica gel packet. Others mention vacuum sealing your silver (which seems labor intensive). Also heard some plastic is good and others are bad (pvc?). Please share your storing strategies.....thx guys!
All you need to do is store your goods in a moisture and oxygen deprived environment, and you'll head off oxidation. Store the coins / bars in a sealed container that can pull a vacuum, and you should be good to go. Only one of many options out there . . . https://www.ebay.com/itm/VACUCRAFT-...891612?hash=item2f0d51405c:g:FPcAAOSwdW9Z6l0o - Mike
My rounds and ASEs go into the Mint's tubes and then I store them with a pack of desiccant. I live in a low humidity place anyway so that helps too.
