That's great of them. I have been happy with my purchases with them both service and products. Their zombie series is genius.
Agreed...So far I like the Zombucks series...as soon as I get this other order resolved I 'm going to put in for the Morgue Anne.
FINALLY!!! Well here it is...just came today. 2013 1oz. Suriname Bullion coin...first year. 2013 1/2 oz. Fiji Taku 2013 1/10th oz. Mexican Libertad...the detail on this small coin is amazing.

Well it's been like 2 months since my last post....not much has happened except gearing up for Christmas. I have some scrap stored up so I was gonna bring it in. Also made a couple purchases, once I get the last one I'll post a follow up.
Enjoyed reading this thread very much. Scrap pays !! Any members out there metal detecting? Besides finding the good stuff: www.pinetreeshillings.com I usually come home from a seaside hunt (not beaches, inland tidal waterways) with anywhere from 2 to 20 pounds of cuprous scrap. I'd venture it's an average monthly payoff of $150-200. During a bad month this can outweigh the value of the goodies, here's pix of two average scrap metal hauls and a pic of some sales from last summer. Below is a big pile ready for the yard, over $250 from this one, the large drain was almost 30lb of white brass by itself, and all pulled from the mud. If you like free PMs, consider swinging a coil, here's my junk PMs recovered this year, (well, some of the gold isn't junk) gold, lol, I found three teeth, two of them gold in the mud this year, and two rings not shown, the coin was found in my first month of MDing. A 12 gram lump of melted 14K, recovered from the edge of a colonial era foundation, test kit is a must, sure didn't look like gold til I filed it. Have several silver lumps that match coin weights from old foundations. 97 modern(post 1900) silver coins, around a dozen 1800-1900. a pile of jewelery, thimbles and flatware. Lastly, here's an interesting purchase, 1.4 oz HD bar, paid about spot from the bay. Thanks for looking and HH all !!
I'll warn you that there's a good chance of becoming hooked if you try it. I use several different machines, depending on site conditions. If you are gonna be searching wet salt you need a multifrequency or a pulse, the Minelab Safari is a great choice for its ease of use, stability and reliability. It's not exactly cheap, I've bought several used but 'like new' Safaris in the $600 range, (for resale) they retail for $1000. If you aren't gonna search the coastline, Teknetics T2 LTD at about $800 new is a good choice, comes with two coils, it is a very deepsearching machine. You'll also find this machine 'used' at deep discounts. I know these may not be 'beginners machines' and aren't cheap, I've seen a few people get the inexpensive models (garrets Ace series for example) and give up the hobby because they can't tell what may be a good recovery and whats not resulting in frustration from digging so much trash, while most starting with a midrange machine have better results and stick with it, I also know one of the top US colonial hunters uses an Ace 250 quite successfully. (at least his profile on Treasurenet says so) I believe that if you invested $600 in a Safari, did some site research and put in the hours of digging you would recoup its price in the value of goodies and scrap metal recovered in less than 6 months, likely far less. As I said, think carefully before starting, it is addictive. HH, Herbie.
WOW!!! Long time since I updated this. Suffice to say pricing for scrap was in the hole for a while. Now that the prices are starting to come back up I'm going to resume my efforts. Some financial changes also prevented me from riding it out so here we go if anyone is still interested.
A couple things to offset bullion buying with OPM (Other Peoples Money) The local casino is usually good for a quick $20/$40 off the BlackJack tables.YMMV Save all the aluminum cans from home and work, that cashes out to $10 when the large trash can is full. Buy and sell items that have enough upside potential to cover the extra time.
I don't gamble. I suck at it and I have terrible luck. I've still been saving aluminum cans just not as aggressive as I have in the past due to low metal prices.
