Reasonable Price premium over spot for G-VG Morgans??

    What is a Reasonable Price over spot for G-VG Morgans?? And does anyone here prefer old Morgans/Peace dollars over SAE's in spite of the premium over junk 90%??

    I'm not a big Morgan collector, but I have never thought about Morgans and SAEs in the same category. I have both but don't buy them for the same reason -- and don't prefer one over the other. Most Morgans (except maybe 1921-Ds) have numismatic value that is only loosely related to spot, while most SAEs are bullion coins which are very much related to spot prices. Therefore, the price of Morgans is going to depend on year, mint, rarity, and condition. SAEs, not so much so.
