The raccoon in me wants a piece, too.
I'm still debating if I should put my money toward silver or gold. I need to do more research...

I was wondering where you got this as well. I've got extra cash that I wouldn't mind investing, but honestly don't know where I should buy from. I see bars on amazon all the time.... But I can't help but think it's a bit sketchy buying precious metals from a giant online corporation like amazon :p

How is your experience with Ebay? I have never tried Ebay. I have heard horror stories about Ebay from a number of people. Whenever I wanted to buy bullion coins, I either bought them through Kitco, or went directly to a reputed shop. And for silver, I have never invested in bullion coins. I have only invested in bars.

I attempted to buy on eBay a few times. Depends on who the seller is. I actually got a few grams when trying it out, one seller sold at a very cheap price with free shipping. Other ones I chanced on, were very cheap, but the seller tacked on crazy shipping charges. (Got out of that bid.) Completely depends on the seller IMO, if they're advertising completely free shipping I say go for it, as long as the price is right. ;)

If you know some of the reliable sellers out there in the Ebay, then may be yes. I am not familiar with the over all legal proceedings of Ebay in the case the buyer is not satisfied. I have used the Ebay only once or twice during the last five years. Don't have much trust to put all the risk in.

Yeah, I use it for odds and ends mostly, but just tried out the with small silver bars. The risk is too high for me to mess around with it in any seriousness, or in any high dollar amounts. You hve to pay attention to all the numbers too. Current prices of the metals your buying, and what the seller is asking for, including shipping. I have made many bids on metals, but only won very few. I'm not willing to spend over what the metal is worth at the moment, and I do not try to outbid people that are overpaying. May be a great way to sell too though if people are doing it that way.
