Nope, these are private mint issues - I only collect real coins (legal tender) from the U.S. Mint.[/QUOTE]
I had to laugh , when did those ugly 5oz punks become legal tender ? try going down the street and buy something !!

They're $0.25. And, who the heck would try to spend one?

Ugly? Well, like they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You must not hold any.

The one I have displayed at the shop gets more attention than any other coin. Everyone says, ooooooooh, aaaaaaaah.

With the release of the Bombay Hook and the sell-out of the Everglades pucks, I thought it was a good time for an update. The prices on ebay have dipped on most of the pucks over the past couple of months. It may be temporary but it was noticeable. Hopefully, the Christmas season will see a return in value.

According to the US Mint website, the Great Sand Dunes and Blue Ridge pucks sold out this week. Although the Great Sand Dunes was expected at a mintage of 24,013, the Blue Ridge is somewhat of a surprise at a reasonably low mintage of 17,482. It was also a recent release (July 2015). I wouldn't be surprised if it is a mistake on their website and it reappears for sale. They were selling for $200 on ebay last week before the sellout. I can see folks asking $300 now for this puck. My fingers are crossed that it is an early sellout.

We " Grebes" only dine on the Plumpest and Rarest of Minnow ! I think I will apply the Yakapoo algorithm to my collecting from now on !

The Everglades puck has now also sold out with a mintage of 22,732. Folks continue to ask $330 on the lower mintage Blue Ridge puck that recently sold out. The Everglades value seems to be rising slightly to about $170.

I'm going big on both versions of teddy. Such an awesome design. I hope it comes out early in the year and that it's a low mintage but I doubt it.

Just bought a Bombay Hook off the Mint web site. Noticed the mintage limit is 20,000 on these but 30,000 on the others, even the Saratoga that just came out. Wonder if it is just a misprint?

Yes, the 30k was what the mint initially planned for the Saratoga P but they changed their minds and sold 45k bullion leaving only 20k max possible mintage for the P... also, the numbers are out and currently about 17,100 P's have been sold so far so IF they close it out at around what they did for blue ridge at 17.5k they may not last long. You never know but it is a possibility

Where can we find the current sales figures for the Saratoga P?

Sure would be nice to see the mint lower the price on these next year, at today's silver price, $119.95 would give them the $50 above melt they made when silver was much higher. As a percentage of profit above melt, the price should be somewhere around $99.95.
