Would I comb through a year's worth of my own waste for $13? No. No, I would not. More practically, it's hard for me to imagine any recovery process that would generate profit at those levels. $13/yr is certainly a lot less than I pay for sewer service, with only the most conventional waste treatment.

Oh, that's pretty clear. My point is that those processors probably wouldn't reclaim enough PM via this processing technique to profit from it. It sounds a bit like the old "extracting gold from seawater" idea -- you can do it, it's just that it's orders of magnitude cheaper to simply buy gold.
